For those looking at assembling an AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO workstation and interested in having working system sensor monitoring support, the ASUS EC Sensors hardware monitoring (HWMON) driver is in the process of introducing support for the Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE motherboard.

The ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE is an EEB-sized workstation motherboard for Threadripper PRO 7000WX/9000WX Series processors with seven PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, 32+3+3+3 power stage design, dual 10Gb Ethernet ports, support for up to 2TB of ECC R-DIMM DDR5 memory, and other premium features. It's a great board but will set you back $1299 USD.

The ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE already works with Linux when it comes to all of the standard/typical functionality while the ASUS EC Sensors HWMON driver has a patch pending for sensor monitoring support. The patch adds support for monitoring the CPU temperature and various other motherboard temperature sensors as well as the various fan speeds for connected fans.

This patch is queued up and should be merged for the asus-ec-sensors driver with the Linux 6.18 kernel cycle.
