Arch Linux Is The Latest Distribution Replacing Redis With Valkey

Arch Linux is the latest Linux distribution replacing its Redis packages with the Valkey fork.

Due to the decision last year of shifting the upstream Redis license from a BSD 3-clause to RSALv2 and SSPLv1, Arch Linux is joining the chorus of other Linux platforms moving to Valkey that is backed by the Linux Foundation and various hardware/software vendors.

Valkey is replacing Redis in the Arch Linux extra repository and after a two week period the Redis package will be moved out to AUR and receive no further updates. Users are encouraged to migrate to Valkey as soon as possible.
