In addition to announcing the Framework Laptop 13 Pro today, Framework Computer at their next-gen hardware event also previewed the OCuLink Dev Kit for attaching high throughput peripherals like external GPUs (eGPUs) to Framework Laptops.

The Framework OCuLink Dev Kit is a modular bridge between the Framework Laptop 16 with its PCIe connectivity from the Expansion Bay to allow for direct, high-speed communication between the CPU and external hardware like an eGPU setup via OCuLink.

Not many details were shared on the Framework OCuLink Dev Kit today, at least for the embargoed pre-briefing. But with it just being a "preview", no pricing or firm availability yet available.

In any event this is an interesting complement for the Framework Laptop 16 for being able to attach high-end graphics cards for faster gaming and/or AI / GPU compute.

On the high-end hardware side, Framework Computer also announced a 10Gb Ethernet expansion card they co-designed with Winispi for allowing 10Gb networking connectivity from Framework Laptops.
