The Fedora 44 Beta release is out today on schedule in working toward the official Fedora 44 release around mid-April.

Fedora Workstation 44 features the latest GNOME 50 desktop components. Or if you are a KDE fan, Fedora 44 delivers on a unified KDE out-of-the-box experience with Plasma 6.6 and is also using the new Plasma Login Manager in place of SDDM. There are also other updated desktop options in Fedora 44 like the Budgie 10.10 desktop.

Fedora 44 also brings live media improvements, enhanced AArch64 EFI system support for Windows on ARM laptops, the latest GCC 16 compiler, and many other package updates.

There is a lot in store for Fedora 44 as with all Fedora Linux releases for this leading-edge open-source platform. The full list of changes that made it to completion for Fedora 44 can be found via the Fedora Wiki.

More details on the changes with today's Fedora 44 beta release can be found via today's announcement on FedoraMagazine.org. If all goes well, Fedora 44 is currently anticipating its official release on 14 April assuming no last minute slips.
