Earlier today Framework Computer held a virtual and in-person event to announce their 2nd gen offerings in the form of a mini-ITX desktop powered by the new Ryzen AI Max SoCs, a 2-in-1 convertible laptop with the Framework Laptop 12, and Ryzen AI 300 series SoC/motherboard options for the Framework Laptop 13.

There's been much excitement around Framework's new Framework 12 convertible laptop, an exciting mini-ITX Ryzen AI Max offering as a desktop or just motherboard if so desired, and then finally getting the Zen 5 treatment for Framework Laptop 13 as an upgrade to the Ryzen AI 300 series.

The Framework Laptop 13 with Ryzen AI 300 series will start out at $899 USD and up with initial shipments going out in April.

The Framework Desktop won't begin shipping until early Q3 and the pricing starts out at $1099 USD for enjoying the exciting AMD Ryzen AI Max. The Framework Desktop is an interesting expansion for the company and will be interesting to see how well it works out in practice.

The Framework Laptop 13 pre-orders will begin in April while shipping will start in mid-2025.

Hopefully we get our hands on some of these new Framework products soon for Linux testing on Phoronix.

The Framework website has been getting hammered by traffic since the announcements earlier today and they are still imposing a wait period/queue to visit the website... And thus have intentionally been delaying this news due to their website downtime. Those wanting to find out more can do so via frame.work.
