Fwupd 2.1.2 is out today as the latest update to this open-source firmware updating utility that allows for updating system firmware and device/peripheral firmware under Linux.

LVFS/Fwupd lead developer Richard Hughes of Red Hat just announced the availability of Fwupd 2.1.2. Included with Fwupd 2.1.2 are a number of different device fixes, daemon support for modems that export ttyUSB devices, various device quirks, and of course the latest batch of hardware support.

New device support for firmware updating under Linux with Fwupd 2.1.2 includes various mice, the never ending churn around USB-C docks and hubs, and even some cameras. The hardware support new to Fwupd 2.1.2 includes:
- Elan TP IC type 0x19
- Google Moonstone
- HP 400 and 405 Mouse
- Lenovo USB-4 dock
- LX Semicon SW42101 touch controller
- Parade USB hubs with GPIO control
- Pixart PLP239 devices
- Raydium TP devices
- Sunplus cameras

Google Moonstone appears to be the codename for an upcoming Google Chromebook with the Moonstone hardware ID addition being in regards to the Elan touchpad firmware updating.
