IGT GPU Tools began as a set of tools by Intel for working on their Linux Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) kernel driver but with time has been broadened by the open-source community to support non-Intel drivers/hardware. IGT GPU Tools 2.0 was released on Thursday with new enhancements for these tests and other tools incorporated into the project.

Kamil Konieczny of Intel released IGT GPU Tools 2.0 that adds RDNA3.5 AMDGPU family support, adds new Intel graphics PCI IDs for Battlemage / Panther Lake / Meteor Lake and others on the hardware side. IGT GPU Tools 2.0 also adds kmemleak scans, various test case enhancements, a new tool for measuring the display memory bandwidth utilization, a new "igt_facts" tool for displaying GPU related information, the power tool is now called "igt_power", and various other improvements and fixes.
