Intel LPMD 0.1 Released With Support For Panther Lake

Written by Michael Larabel in Intel on 11 November 2025 at 08:21 AM EST. 1 Comment
Intel on Monday released version 0.1 of their Low Power Mode Daemon, the open-source daemon in development for several years now for optimizing active idle power on modern Intel Core (Ultra) CPUs under Linux.

Intel's Low Power Mode Daemon is useful for enhancing power efficiency under Linux and keeping power/thermals to a minimum during idle/low-power periods for processors featuring Intel's hybrid core design.

With the new Intel LPMD 0.1 release the only listed change is adding support for upcoming Panther Lake SoCs.

- Add support for Panther Lake

Ahead of Intel Panther Lake processors appearing in 2026, Intel LPMD 0.1 is now ready to go for supporting these next-gen Intel laptops under Linux. From the kernel side, all of the Panther Lake support appears largely in order and ready to go once hardware is available.
