Following the recent KDE Plasma 6.6 desktop release, KDE Gear 26.04 is out today for shipping all the latest updated KDE desktop applications.

KDE Gear 26.04 brings a variety of enhancements to the many apps that are part of the KDE desktop ecosystem. Some of the standout highlights of KDE Gear 26.04 include:

- The Dolphin file manager now lets you add keyboard shortcuts for nearly any option in the menus, plugins, or extensions.

- The Merkuro Calendar brings a redesigned schedule view and event editor.

- The KOrganizer calendar app that is integrated in Kontact has a redesigned interface.

- Various improvements to the Kdenlive video editor app.

- The NeoChat Matrix chat client now has a rich text editor and support for threads.
