KMSCON 10.0 Released With Natural Scrolling Option, Libseat VT Support

KMSCON 10.0 is out today as the newest feature release to this terminal emulator for Linux that can serve as an alternative to the in-kernel VT.

KMSCON is of growing interest to more Linux distributions for delivering a more feature-rich and robust experience than using the aging, legacy VT. With KMSCON 10.0 there is now libseat support for opening a seat and obtaining the file descriptors for the display and input devices. In turn this libseat support enables KMSCON to run as an unprivileged user on systems where libseat is present.

KMSCON 10.0 also adds a new option to enable natural scrolling for users who prefer inverting the mouse wheel direction.

KMSCON 10.0 also now properly clears the cursor plane when dropping the master DRM connection during VT hand-off, handling bitmap fonts with variable widths, and a variety of other code refactoring and code cleaning.
