LibreOffice 25.8 is now available as the latest half-year feature release to this open-source office suite that is one of the most comprehensive alternatives to Microsoft Office for Linux and other platforms.

LibreOffice 25.8 brings various user interface enhancements and a variety of performance improvements yielding up to 30% faster performance for opening files in the Writer word processor and Calc spreadsheet programs. LibreOffice 25.8 also continues making enhancements to its Microsoft Office file format compatibility. Plus there are a variety of other minor enhancements throughout.
