Linux 6.14-rc4 Released: The Right Kind Of "Boring"
Linus Torvalds released the Linux 6.14-rc4 kernel a short time ago as this half-way point to Linux 6.14 stable that should be out before the end of March.
Linus wrote in this afternoon's 6.14-rc4 announcement:
It's been a fairly quiet week with no major fixes or additions to note in Linux 6.14-rc4 from my hardware tracking.
Linus 6.14 is going to be powering Ubuntu 25.04, Fedora 42, and other upcoming Linux distributions releasing after March. There are many great features and improvements with Linux 6.14.

"This continues to be the right kind of "boring" release: nothing in particular stands out in rc4.
We've got all the usual driver fixes (ok, let networking than usual, but gpu, sound, nvme, you name it, but it won't be huge), various smaller filesystem fixes (xfs, smb, netfs, cachefs), core kernel and networking fixes.
And all of it looks pretty small and non-threatening. The biggest single patch is just a new self test.
So - knock wood - 6.14 looks to be on track, with everything looking good."
