Linux 6.16 To Support The Realtek RTL8127A 10GbE Ethernet Controller
On the networking front with the upcoming Linux 6.16 merge window is supporting the new Realtek RTL8127A 10GbE Ethernet Controller.
The RTL8127A is a new ASIC from Realtek allowing 10Gb/s Ethernet networking. There doesn't appear to be many devices/boards yet employing the RTL8127 series networking controllers but the Linux support is prepped.
Queued this past week to the networking subsystem's "net-next" branch is this patch directly from a Realtek engineer adding the RTL8127A controller support.
The RTL8127A 10Gb/s controller support is being tacked onto the existing r8169 Ethernet networking driver with less than 200 lines of new code.
