While the Linux 6.16 merge window just passed one week ago, already there are new feature changes beginning to queue for the Linux 6.17 kernel later in the summer.

This week the first batch of drm-misc-next changes were sent in for what is targeting the Linux 6.17 kernel cycle. On the DRM core side this pull brings support to DRM core for HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) handling as well as YUV420 output support. Various Linux DRM drivers have already supported HDMI CEC while now there are various CEC helpers added to the common code as well as some other common improvements around this specification that makes it easy to control HDMI connected devices.

This week's pull also adds DRM_Panic support to the Hyper-V driver, the I.MX driver now supports the IMX8qxq display controller, the Lima driver adds support for the Rockchip RK3528 GPU, buffer object labeling support for the Panfrost Arm Mali driver, RAS support for the Qualcomm QAIC accelerator driver, and Allwiner H616 support wihtin the Sun4i driver. The TIDSS driver also adds support for the Texas Insturments AM62L.

There are also a number of new display panels added and various other small changes. More details on this wee's drm-misc-next changes via this pull request.
