The EXT4 file-system pull request has been submitted for the Linux 3.14 kernel merge window.

Those hoping for exciting EXT4 updates in Linux 3.14 will sadly be disappointed. Ted Ts'o put out the pull request on Tuesday and it contains mostly bug-fixes and clean-ups for EXT4. Even when it comes to these changes they aren't overly noteworthy with just a total of nine changes for the 3.14 merge window. The only new functionality is enabling punch hole functionality for bigalloc file-systems.
