Khronos Keeps Advancing, Pushing Its Standards
This week the Khronos Group finalized the OpenCL 2.0 specification and also published a preliminary specification to OpenVX 1.0, an API for computer vision acceleration. For those curious about the recent work done by the Khronos Group on these -- and many other -- industry standard APIs, there's some new slides out.
The Khronos Group has been on a tour of Korea and there's slide decks available from their presentations in Daegu and Jeju. The presentations this month covered their various "Open" APIs and of a big focus were how these APIs are being used more by increasingly powerful mobile devices.
Those wishing to go through the PDF slide decks from these recent presentations on the open standards, see this Khronos.org page.
