Memtest86+ 8.10 is out today as a significant update to this legendary open-source RAM testing software.

With Memtest86+ there is now support for using x2APIC as found with newer x86_64 processors since xAPIC is soon to be deprecated. Memtest86+ now fully supports x2APIC to ensure the SMP support will continue working on the very latest and future CPUs. For now Memtest86+ continues defaulting to maximum 256 CPU threads but x2APIC will ultimately allow for elevating that limit once the stack usage is evaluated.

The Memtest86+ 8.10 release also provides better support for Intel Lunar Lake and Intel Panther Lake platforms. There is also better bandwidth measurement of CPU caches and RAM.

Some of the other changes include LoongArch 64-bit improvements, fixing various GRUB and SecureBoot problems, fixing LPDDR5 timings, adding Clang/LLD toolchain support, and now there is a single binary that works for both UEFI and legacy boot systems.
