Omarchy as the Arch Linux based desktop distribution using the Hyprland compositor and led by David Heinemeier Hansson "DHH" is out with a big OS update.

The Omarchy 3.7 release available today has overhauled its Linux gaming support with now featuring a streamlined Steam installer, pre-configured RetroArch, improved controller handling, and enhanced integration with the likes of Lutris, Heroic, and the Moonlight GameStream client. Omarchy also added an Xbox Cloud Gaming web app option and various other enhancements.

Another big change with Omarchy 3.7 is introducing a new unified omarchy command for a better experience over the existing separate omarchy-* commands. With tab completion and the like, the new omarchy command for the Omarchy command center makes it easier to analyze issues, install software, take screenshots and a variety of other helpers.

Omarchy 3.7 also brings built-in text extraction from anywhere on the screen using screen capture and feeding it through the Tesseract optical character recognition engine. The cliamp text-based music player is also now shipped by default, enabling Intel FRED By default for Panther Lake systems, better support for the ASUS ExpertBook Panther Lake laptop, and other improvements.
