The Phoronix Office Over The Years

With Phoronix.com having turned 12 years old earlier this month (and Phoronix Test Suite turning 8) plus finishing up my custom build of a butcher-block and steel pipe computer desk, I figured it'd be fun to take a look at my Phoronix office layouts over the years.

For those wanting to have some fun looking at old computers or out of curiosity, here have been some of my office layouts over the past 12 years of running Phoronix:

This was pretty much the desk where Phoronix started on when I was 15...

That then turned into a setup like this after a few months of running Phoronix and many reviews later...

The early years when frankly more manufacturers had hope for Linux gaining market-share than many of them do now, at least from the PR/media folks I tend to deal with.

Multi-monitor setups became more pressing when increasing the graphics coverage on Phoronix and back in the days when monitor EDID issues were common, etc.

Must have been around 2008 or so at this point.

The layout in 2014 when moving again.

Now the "basement server room" layout where much of the benchmarking happens with Phoronix in its 12th year. More details on that if you missed it via A One Year Redux On The Basement Computer Room For Benchmarking 50+ Systems Daily.

And lastly the layout in my "front office" after Building A Massive L-Shaped Desk For A Better Workflow, More Monitors & Space.

Hopefully this latest layout will be suitable for many years to come for Phoronix and Phoronix Test Suite / OpenBenchmarking.org!
