Phoronix Test Suite 6.8-Tana Officially Released
Phoronix Test Suite 6.8.0 is now available as the latest version of our open-source, fully-automated, reproducible benchmarking software for Linux, BSD, Solaris, macOS, Windows, and other operating systems.
Phoronix Test Suite 6.8 is the latest stable release now of our GPL-licensed benchmarking software updated on its regular quarterly release cadence. Phoronix Test Suite 6.8 development focused on a number of low-level improvements to particularly benefit Phoromatic and the Phodevi (Phoronix Device Interface) software/hardware library abstraction layer.
Some of the highlights of Phoronix Test Suite 6.8 include:
- Various internal pts-core clean-ups, improvements around proxy handling, minor updates to pts_Graph, and more.
- Phoromatic Server web interface improvements.
- A new log_exporter module.
- A new FlameGrapher module as a way to easily generate flame graphs of each test being executed, more details on that via Generating CPU Flame Graphs Automatically When Benchmarking With The Phoronix Test Suite.
- A result_custom_export module as a demonstration for dumping PTS test result data in custom/arbitrary data formats.
- Solus Linux external dependency handling was mainlined courtesy of a Solus developer.
- Various improvements to Phodevi, particularly some GPU detection improvements, better Vulkan driver recognition, video RAM detection improvements, and other hardware identification enhancements across all Linux/Unix-like platforms.
- Various other tweaks, fixes, and improvements.
