ReactOS Merges Better Support For Fullscreen Applications

ReactOS as the "open-source Windows" project providing an operating system with binary compatibility for Windows software and drivers can finally properly handle full-screen games/apps.

Merged this week for ReactOS is support for properly handling games and other full-screen applications where the desire would be to hide the taskbar when running the full-screen software.

ReactOS posted to X on this achievement for full-screen games/apps:

The fullscreen handling support was merged yesterday via this commit:
[EXPLORER] Add fullscreen handling

Adds support for handling fullscreen applications (a.k.a. “rude apps”) so the taskbar can hide or show appropriately.

And in turn closing a number of bug reports that had been open around this functionality. See this pull request from Katayama Hirofumi for all the details.
