Shotcut 26.6 is now available in beta form as this latest feature update for this popular, open-source and cross platform video editor.

Shotcut 26.6 is introducing basic support for OpenFX plug-ins as well as VST2 audio plug-ins. In addition, there is a new "safe mode" and the ability to leave safe mode, for if Shotcut is crashing within 30 seconds of start-up. The safe mode is loading Shotcut without the OpenFX or VST2 plug-ins in case they are the ones causing the crash.

Shotcut 26.6 can also be launched in a new experimental mode via the "--experimental" command line option for trying out experimental features, which for the moment is for using their new filter UI generator.

This new release also adds a RNNoise-powered filter for reducing noise audio, the HDR preview window can now be made full screen, adding support for HDR to Export, PQ HDR metadata dialogs, the Vulkan display method now works on Linux, and many bug fixes.
