Ubuntu 25.04 Now Available For Download With GNOME 48 + Linux 6.14, Better Performance
Ubuntu 25.04 ISO images are now available for download along with the various flavors of this newest six-month, non-LTS Linux distribution update.
Ubuntu 25.04 is a nice step forward in being powered by the fresh Linux 6.14 kernel, featuring the GNOME 48 desktop environment with HDR support and Wayland enhancements and much more, Mesa 25.0 graphics drivers for nice AMD RDNA4 and Intel Xe2 Battlemage support, Python 3.13, and a wide variety of other package updates that have built up since Ubuntu 24.10 last October.
Ubuntu 25.04 also features new work on performance optimizations by Canonical engineers, JPEG-XL support is enabled by default, NVIDIA Dynamic Boost support by default, various installer improvements, better support for Qualcomm Snapdragon X1 Elite laptops, the GIMP 3.0 image editor, and many other improvements.
