For the Ubuntu 25.10 development cycle to complement the daily ISOs, Canonical began releasing monthly snapshots to facilitate more testing from the community and also in working to enhance their build automation / infrastructure. Today marks the third monthly release of Ubuntu 25.10 for testing.

Questing Snapshot 3 was just released as the newest monthly development milestone for Ubuntu 25.10. Ubuntu 25.10 "Questing Quokka" continues pacing well and is working toward shipping in October atop the Linux 6.17 kernel while for now is using a 6.15 (soon to be 6.16) based kernel. Ubuntu 25.10 is also notable for the GNOME-based desktop session being Wayland-only. GNOME 49 Alpha packages are currently in Ubuntu 25.10 and another recent feature landing is around the TPM-backed full disk encryption. See our numerous Ubuntu 25.10 articles for more details on the big changes coming to this release.

Those wanting to test Ubuntu 25.10 Snapshot 3 can grab today's ISOs via the mailing list announcement.
