Canonical today released the Ubuntu 25.10 Beta as they work toward the stable Ubuntu 25.10 release in mid-October.

Ubuntu 25.10 is a very feature-rich update with using the leading-edge Linux 6.17 kernel, moved to the modern GCC 15 compiler, switched to various Rust system components like sudo-rs and Rust Coreutils, GNOME 49 is in use for the Ubuntu 25.10 default desktop, and many other changes for testing ahead of the important Ubuntu 26.04 LTS release that follows in April.

Ubuntu 25.10 has been working out very well in my daily ISO testing thus far and performing well across various Linux benchmarks.
"Ubuntu 25.10, codenamed Questing Quokka, continues Ubuntu's proud tradition of integrating the latest and greatest open source technologies into a high-quality, easy-to-use Linux distribution. The team has been hard at work through this cycle, introducing new features and fixing bugs.

This Beta release includes images from not only the Ubuntu Desktop, Server, WSL, and Cloud products, but also the Edubuntu, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu Budgie, Ubuntu Cinnamon, UbuntuKylin, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Unity, and Xubuntu flavours."
