21-Way Open-Source AMD/Intel/NVIDIA GPU Benchmarks On Linux
Another caveat in the RadeonSI driver support is incorrect rendering found for Xonotic during this testing, which elevated the GCN hardware's frame-rates.
The results aren't terribly surprising given the factors of Nouveau's re-clocking troubles and the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver maturing, but there you have it for some current performance numbers using the Linux 3.13 Git kernel and Mesa 10.1-devel atop Ubuntu 13.10. Benchmarks comparing the newer graphics cards to their proprietary graphics drivers are forthcoming. Additional benchmark requests can be directed to the forums or @MichaelLarabel.
You can compare your own Linux desktop system's graphics performance to the results in this article by simply installing the Phoronix Test Suite and running phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1311273-SO-21GROUPGP01.
