SilverStone LC-14 Lascala HTPC
Opening up the chassis, we were pleased with the interior layout. At the front of the case, in the corner, are the previously mentioned dual 5.25" drive bays while underneath them is a hidden 3.5" internal drive bay. This hidden drive bay is quite innovative on the part of SilverStone engineers for maximizing the small work area. Next to the 5.25" and hidden 3.5”, bays are three additional 3.5" bays. Fortunately, as you'll see why later in this review, the entire 3.5" drive cage can be removed. The final prominent feature along the front inside portion of the case is an intake 92mm fan. Included stock is a SilverStone 92mm 4-pin molex connector fan, but due to the design of the plastic fan cage, the fan can easily be swapped out.

The two front bezels of the case can also be removed easily. Once these two covers are removed, the connections to the front panel hot keys and connectors can be accessed in addition to the switches and LEDs. Personally, we would have rather gone with a snapping method or traditional screws to secure these two covers rather than using the hex screws.
Most often, home theatre equipment ends up being stacked in a cabinet and we're pleased with the construction of the SilverStone that should allow additional audio/video equipment to be stacked on top of the LC-14 if desired.
At the rear of the chassis are two 60mm exhaust fans, complete with fan grills to prevent lacerations to any cables in the near vicinity, along with the PSU slot and expansion slots. Measuring in at 437 x 172 x 434 mm the chassis does support full ATX motherboards, although the workroom can become quite cramped in the petite case. After giving the case a cursory examination, we were very much pleased with the build construction of the SilverStone LC14.
