ePower XScale 570W
First off, the XScale is a very heavy power supply, which is often an indicator of being a high quality unit but only our tests will tell its true capabilities. Similar to our ePower XScale units we have reviewed in the past, the main ATX 20+4 connector is sleeved. All the other cables on the unit are braided with the exception of its PCI Express power connector. The PCI Express connector is covered with a rubber coating and there is a noise filter on the line. Presumably, this is to help provide a clean power source for the power hungry graphics card. Whether or not it makes a difference is often a matter of opinion. Continuing with the cabling, the XScale 570W has three standard molex cables each with three 4-pin connectors. In addition, it has the PCI Express cable, as well as an AGP connection for AGP cards that necessitate a 6-pin interface, and finally a cable for four SATA connectors.

On the exterior of the XScale is a highly polished βtitaniumβ finish, while on the back of the power supply there is the power connector, a fan controller switch, and an AC power pass-through. The pass-through connector allows you to connect any device that you would like to be turned on with your computer. Examples of devices that could benefit from the AC pass-through connector would be monitors, AC water pumps, etc. Overall, it is a very nice touch for the ePower unit. Moving onto more important matters, the inside of the unit is very cleanly laid out. Inside lined up with two large black heatsinks are two 80mm fans. The unit is labeled TOP, which indeed indicates that this is a Topower unit.
