With this prime number generator benchmark, CentOS and Ubuntu were in a dead heat for first place while FreeBSD 12.1 was coming out behind.

With the Smallpt path tracer, CentOS and Ubuntu again were delivering the best performance over FreeBSD.

For M-Queens as a performant N-Queens implementation, the two Linux distributions managed a very narrow lead over FreeBSD 12.1 on the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X.

Under the Tachyon ray-tracer, FreeBSD 12.1 with Clang was slower than the two Linux distributions tested particularly at the lower core counts.
