With all of the ATI Radeon X1000 coverage today, we simply ran the usual Mobility Radeon X300 through its paces with the 8.24.8 drivers as well as the previous 8.23.7 release from last month. These tests are done to look for any potential performance losses or gains that may be the result of any undocumented changes in these drivers, of course, depending upon the GPU the results may vary. Even so, it is often wise to stay up to date with the driver releases unless of course there are any conflicts. Consisting of our range of tests for this article was simply Enemy Territory and Unreal Tournament 2004. As mentioned in our X1000 preview, ATI's Linux department has stated that the installer should be aware of Fedora Core 5 within the next couple of releases as it begins to adapt some of the Livna changes.
