Like the music player, SplashTop had developed their own photo manager for use within this instant-on Linux technology. This allows for reading pictures from an externally mounted drive or other storage medium. DeviceVM will be adding NTFS read support, for those wishing to acquire data off a Windows partition.

DeviceVM is also asking its users to submit anonymous usage data, in order to help this product.

Yet another change in this updated SplashTop release is support for "power profiles", whereby a user can opt for better performance or better energy savings.
