Running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS On The Acer C720 Chromebook
With yesterday's AMD Kabini APU Linux testing there were performance improvements found for the dual-core, low-end AMD system when running the Linux 3.14 kernel over Linux 3.13 for CPU/system benchmarks, but that wasn't the case for the Intel Celeron 2955U with the Acer C720 Chromebook. The performance overall though of this low-cost Chromebook continues to be admirable and works great with Linux sans the touchpad issues.
Overall, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS isn't a game-changer for the C720 but at least there's a bit better performance for the OpenGL Intel HD Graphics stack.
