Here is a look at a value comparison for the different EC2 instance types. These charts will be more interesting when plotting in the test results and prices in our upcoming results for more public cloud providers.
These results come largely in line with expectations given Amazon's fairly linear pricing between on-demand instance types. Of course, you will find much better value if going for reserved instances, etc.
