The 7-Zip Compression test results are also quite interesting and demonstrate well the performance abilities of each Amazon EC2 instance.

C-Ray is one of our favorite ray-tracing benchmarks as well as multi-threaded tests. Here the capabilities of each Amazon EC2 instance type are clearly visible.

POV-Ray is a better-known ray-tracing benchmark within the industry, but the stable POV-Ray 3.6.1 does not utilize multi-threading so it is not hugely interesting for these tests and does not show the scaling that can be found with C-Ray.
