As commonly seen in my Windows vs. Linux comparisons, the OpenJDK Java performance on each platform can be very mixed... With the Ryzen 7 7800X3D desktop it's no different with the same Java binaries yielding very different performance between Windows and Linux, but with Ubuntu 23.04 generally leading.
👁 JPEG XL libjxl benchmark with settings of Input: JPEG, Quality: 100. Ubuntu 23.04 was the fastest.
JPEG-XL image encoding continues to show strong advantages on Linux.
WebP image encoding was also favoring Ubuntu 23.04 over Windows 11 on this Zen 4 3D V-Cache desktop.
For many workloads, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D on Ubuntu 23.04 was showing small but recurring wins over Windows 11 Pro with the current drivers on each operating system.
