The gains with AOCC 5.0 were there but quite small for WebP image encoding.
Of the various open-source C/C++ codebases tested with AOCC 5.0, the biggest gains with this EPYC 9755 compiler testing were witnessed with the SVT-AV1 video encoder. SVT-AV1 2.2 when built by AOCC 5.0 was seeing consistently better performance compared to the other Clang and GCC compilers benchmarked.
👁 C-Ray benchmark with settings of Resolution: 5K, Rays Per Pixel: 16. Clang 19.1.1 was the fastest.
For some workloads the AOCC 5.0 performance was very similar to that of upstream LLVM Clang.
