For workloads like compiling large software packages with multiple jobs, there wasn't any measurable performance difference for Retpolines vs. Automatic IBRS on the AMD EPYC 9654 2P server.

CockroachDB was only seeing some subtle performance differences when moving to the new kernel with Automatic IBRS for AMD Zen 4 processors.

There were more pronounced performance advantages with the PostgreSQL database server enjoying some nice performance improvements thanks to this Automatic IBRS feature on Zen 4.
