The Embree ray-tracing kernel performance showed minor performance improvements at lower CPU power use.
The NAMD performance came out similar overall but with clearly better power management behavior for this AMD EPYC 7773X 2P server compared to the original data in 2022.
The LAMMPS molecular dynamics simulator was showing the best of both: notably better performance on this up-to-date Linux software stack and also better power handling.
For most of the applications tested, the performance benefits of the Ubuntu 22.04 to 25.10 leap varied from slightly better to some rather healthy gains, thanks to the much newer kernel, much enhanced GCC compiler, etc.
