Going from a single Opteron 2384 to EPYC 7601 is around a 10.5x increase in performance, not bad for over the course of the decade and most of the generational improvement has come with these new Zen CPUs.

The performance-per-Watt improvement is also very significant.

Even in the less threaded workloads, the EPYC 7601 represents much greater performance over the older Opterons.
