Tesseract is one of the more interesting open-source games/engines and still was able to run on HD 3000 series hardware with OpenGL 3.3 support.

From the Radeon HD 3650 to R9 290 is a 12x improvement in performance. Sadly, the R9 Fury was problematic here too on this Linux driver stack.

It will be interesting to see how the performance-per-Watt improves once Radeon Polaris GPUs roll out later this year.

The Team Fortress 2 results came as a bit of a surprise. It seems the Radeon HD 6870/6950 using the older R600 Gallium3D driver allowed for faster performance than the newer GCN GPUs using the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver. Looks like the open-source Radeon driver can be further improved here for Valve's popular Team Fortress 2 game.
