AMD Ryzen 3 3100 + Ryzen 3 3300X Offering Great Budget Linux CPU Performance

When running Intel's own Embree ray-tracing kernel tests on the CPUs, the Ryzen 3 3300X still was coming out ahead of the Core i5 9400F and generally similar to the Core i7 7700K. Only when using Intel's optimized ISPC code-path were the Intel CPUs delivering slightly stronger performance albeit the Ryzen 3 3300X still being a better option than the 9400F.

With the LuxCore renderer, the Ryzen 3 3300X and 3100 were cradling the Core i5 9400F and the Ryzen 3 3100 matching the performance of the once high-end Core i7 7700K Kabylake.

If you still are on an AMD Bulldozer era system or even A10-7870K Kaveri/Godavari system, moving to one of these ~$100 Zen 2 CPUs can deliver a big performance uplift.
