Indeed for most of the gaming tests carried out with the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, using DDR5-4800 memory would allow for ~99% the performance of DDR5-6000 memory

In some games under Linux there was slight benefit to using DDR5-6000 memory, but whether it's worth it over DDR5-4800 depends upon your local pricing or if you are going to re-use existing memory you may own. If recycling DDR5-4800 into a new AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D system until new memory prices subside, that could be worthwhile for Linux gaming to enjoy roughly comparable performance.
