While not needing a 16-core laptop CPU if just using a web browser all day, the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 within the HP Zbook Ultra G1a did manage to outperform the Intel Lunar Lake laptops tested for delivering the best Firefox and Chrome performance within the Speedometer 3 benchmark. Intel Lunar Lake though did deliver better power efficiency but no surprise here.

The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 was delivering great web browser performance albeit the power efficiency was understandably not as good as Intel Lunar Lake or AMD Strix Point. When transitioning to creator workloads like Darktable and RawTherapee RAW image photography apps, the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 sprung out into a distant first place finish.

GNU Octave as an open-source MATLAB alternative also saw the best performance out of the AMD Zen 5 laptops.
