AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme Proves Very Versatile For Power/Performance - Benchmarks Against The Ryzen 7 7840U
The Zen 4 cores supporting AVX-512 continue to help out many CPU workloads although the AVX-512 support isn't particularly relevant for gamers.
Going into this I wasn't expecting the Ryzen Z1 Extreme to perform so competitively -- and many times outperform -- the Ryzen 7 7840U. The specs are similar but due to the Z1 Extreme within the ROG Ally gaming handheld device I was expecting it to be more power/thermal constrained.
It was also fascinating to see how power efficient the Z1 Extreme could also operate in via the power-saver ACPI Platform Profile.
