In addition to running the comparison of the A10-5800K at stock speeds, for all results are also the numbers when the A10-5800K was overclocked to 4.40GHz. The Trinity APU on air cooling with the MSI A85XA-G65 motherboard had no troubles at all running at 4.4GHz without Linux stability issues nor spending extensive time tweaking the tunables for the hardware.

All systems were tested with Ubuntu 12.10 with the Linux 3.5 kernel, Unity 6.6 desktop, fglrx 9.0.2 driver, GCC 4.7, and an EXT4 file-system. A variety of processor-oriented tests were run on the different hardware via the Phoronix Test Suite open-source automated benchmarking software. For each CPU, the source-based test profiles were compiled for the respective platform as a native binary to that configuration.
