While not as fast as Catalyst, the Linux 3.13 + Mesa Git combination allowed OpenArena 0.8.8 to run much better than where it was found in Ubuntu 13.10.
The id Tech 4 commercial Prey game is now 87% the speed of Catalyst when using the very latest open-source AMD graphics driver code.
Reaction now comes in at 75% the speed of AMD's proprietary driver if turning to Mesa 10.1-devel and the Linux 3.13 development kernel.
