AMD Catalyst 2011 Driver Year In Review

Starting off with the open-source Nexuiz game, there were a few bumps in 2011 with different driver releases, but comparing Catalyst 10.12 and Catalyst 11.12 the Radeon HD 6950 performance on an Intel Core i7 990X Extreme Edition "Gulftown" really hasn't changed.
Xonotic, the Nexuiz game successor, was even flatter in 2011 on the Catalyst drivers tested.
While Lightsmark is just an OpenGL tech demo / benchmark, its performance has gone up between Catalyst 11.8 and Catalyst 11.12. However, the Catalyst 11.9, 11.10, and 11.11 drivers broke the benchmark with this system configuration. There were also some small performance degradations earlier in the year.
