AMD FirePro V4800 & FirePro V7800
The entry-level FirePro V3800 only takes up half of a PCI Express slot as it is designed to support small form factor systems, but the FirePro V4800 is bigger and will occupy the full slot. The heatsink found on the FirePro V4800 is similar to what is found on some of the mid-range Radeon HD consumer graphics cards and should be good enough to get the job done for this graphics card that has a maximum power consumption of 69 Watts. Like the other FirePro graphics cards we have tested, this fan too was very quiet in operation.
As the FirePro V4800 does not even need 70 Watts of power, no external PCI Express power connection is needed. Unlike the FirePro V3800, however, there are CrossFire connectors to be found along the top-edge of the PCB.
The display connectors on the FirePro V4800 include one dual-link DVI and two DisplayPort.
On the opposite side of the PCB there is four of the memory ICs, which were manufactured by Samsung and labeled K4G10325FE-HC05.
