For the rather lax OpenArena 0.8.5 and slightly more demanding GLSL-using OpenArena 0.8.8 game releases, the open-source driver performance can nearly reach that of the AMD Catalyst driver from Xubuntu 13.10 in its current development state with the updated graphics drivers.
