With the open-source Unvanquished game, the GeForce GTX 680 remained running noticeably faster than the R9 290.
Xonotic with ultimate quality settings was also in NVIDIA's favor running the GTX 680 over the R9 290.
With the GpuTest synthetic OpenGL benchmarks on Linux, the R9 290 managed to come out ahead of the GTX 680. However, the margins weren't huge and the GeForce 700 series will easily beat the R9 290 in the current Linux driver state.
